Per a notice on the door, a hearing will be held Monday, Sept. 19th @ 6 PM to discuss actions against the owner of the Skykomish, WA., Hotel. This structure, which has stood facing the GN / BN / BNSF tracks in the beautiful mountain town for some 90 ? years, has been allowed to fall in to disrepair, with missing roof shingles allowing rain water to fall within the structure. In addition, outside stairways & roof eaves are rotting & loose. Ironically the building recently received its' 1st solid foundation of reinforced concrete as part of the BNSF Dirty - Dirt cleanup project. Per the notice, the building is appraised @ $165,500 and repairs are estimated @ $120,000. The notice also states the building may be condemned as a public nuisance and may be torn down if the owner doesn't make immediate repairs. Perhaps Bob Kelly can offer additional information on this historic structure ???
