The SW 1500 is one of the best, most reliable, and versatile swith engines ever built. Good sight lines, high seating, good ride, and excellent loading for everything from dutch drops and kicking cars, to pulling long cuts when MU'd in the usual SP pairs for heavy work.

The SW 1500's were clean engines, with no knee banging crap all over the cab, or smoke in your face when running, like those crappy C-415's that the trainfans all loved, and all hogheads hated.
