The shortest full service train could have been two cars - an RPO-Baggage/Express-Coach with the coach having a divider for a smoking compartment; then one of the Pullman sleeper-buffet-lounge-observations. Would be a little light on coach seats, but may not need that many if it was only an overnight run. Make the first car a doodlebug ....
