55 million for a river bridge! That's astronimical? It does seem a bit high for such a puny river, though.

Actually, 55 million dollars wouldn't even buy a quarter mile of urban freeway, so what's so big about a bridge costing that much? It seems obvious - These politicans don't really support commuter rail; as they would have us believe they do!

Now why do you suppose they would want us to believe that - except that visions of trains whisking people about are popular with the voters. So while they pretend they will give the voters what they want - they actually throw up road blocks to prevent it.

Why am I not surprised!
