You are missing the point..........the logging exhibits have long been a distraction from the real intent of Fort Humboldt SHP which carries its own interpretive nightmares. Hence planting the District HQ there. I had heard the state wamted to transport some logging exhibits to the sawmill site it inherited expanding Del Norte Coast Redwood State Park. Since there is virtually no logging interpretation in Del Norte County, and primitive railroads did play their part, that would not be inappropriate. I'm sure the state will maintain the connections the equipment has to Bear Harbor and southern Humboldt County. Scattering collections too far afield has its drawbacks, but then all of Henry Sorensen's 3ft gauge collection went to NSRM in Sacramento.
