I purchased Volumes 10 and 11 about PRR facilites east of, within and west of Pittsburgh. These books fill a huge void as most books about the PRR tend to skip over Pittsburgh, even though it was the heart of the PRR system. As a Pittsburgh resident interested in the area's railroad history, I find these books provide a wealth of images of subjects long gone. Although the focus is on PRR, there are also photos of Penn Central, Conrail and Amtrak facilities and trains.

I think Signature Press' book on Great Northern Lines East is very nicely done. However, the Great Northern Lines West does not reach the standard set by the Line East book and I passed on purchasing it.
