I always appreciate these interesting Saturday items...the one on the fire camp in MT especially so. Friday a week ago, my buddy & I left Missoula for Kalispel in the morning and came across a huge fire camp just out of town. There was one 2 acre site just for helicopters (perhaps a dozen on the property) and a larger site for the camp. When I was a kid, I fought fires for 3 different agencies and this little city dwarted them all! If you get to thinking about the logists involved, it's pretty impressive. We were blessed with blue skies in MT, while southern Idaho & Nevada were pretty ugly. One lane of I-80 was even closed for awhile on the 19th right after we went by on our way east. This was near Carlin. Fire had burned right up to the freeway.
