Quite true, however the PLA was allowed to remove some parts of her for their own ex-SP 1269, which had first run on the Castro Point Ry. on April 17, 1980.
The 1269 was a park engine herself, having spent a number of years in Nicholl Park in nearby Richmond. The difference here is that she was fenced and pretty well protected.
