Here is the answer I got last summer.

The county road through Huntsman Canyon was wiped out by flooding several years ago, though it still shows up as a road on Google Earth. The only way in is on the UP's access road, but there are still gates at Rox, Hoya and Carp which are usually locked. Definitely some great scenery and interesting geology south/RR west of Carp.
