The Santa Fe's FP - 45's had the streamline - style front pilot as built; as did their F - 45's. Milwaukee Road's FP - 45's also had the streamline pilot, as did the Metra F - 40 - C's that were assigned to Milwaukee Road line commuter trains in Chicago. The streamline pilot bolted on over the flat front pilot sheet, so conversion to a snow plow pilot was easy. All GN & BN F - 45's had a front snow plow from the factory, as did Amtrak's SDP - 40 - F fleet.
