The three axle trucks with three core holes in the side of the frame between the pedestals, which I was told by thems who know, or at least were supposed to, at the SP were "HTC". If they aren't HTC but something else, OK fine. The ones with the two holes have even spaced axles and aren't prone to the yawing problem. The problem was first reported with Amtrak F45s by engineers on the C&O, which was the first railroad to impose the speed limits (c1975). Having been subjected to such yawing at 70 mph myself, I don't blame the C&O brothers a bit.
