To TOD's last example, it always amazed me that the SP with their DTC system (which does NOT stand for Deranged Traffic Control) could get away with joint authority over several blocks. No definite
meets were scheduled but then the caveat "looking out for" issued with the order was probably the
saving grace. As mentioned it was the responsibility of the crews (and with the knowledge of
other traffic) to be aware of block occupancies.
