I certainly tried to make sure that railfans knew about it! I let everyone at SVRy know, and posted a notice with link to the ad, on the Narrow Gauge forum. I don't think the guy that bought it is a NIMBY, he isn't a big railfan, but certainly didn't strike me as disliking it running past. He owned the garbage service out in the Halfway/Richland area and bought it as a weekend place that he could retire to.
Sure wish we could have kept it, there's nothing like going to bed a bit early, not knowing that they are running a night train. In that half asleep state, hearing #19 working up the nearly 2% grade through our place, it seemed I'd been transported back to the 30's!

PS, although I have the ocean less than a mile from my door, the closest trains are in Coos Bay, 65 miles away. There's not a RR track in Curry Co.
