Back when we lived in Blue Lake that plant was a Louisiana Pacific operation, and it was good for 6-10 or more cars a night. In its last years North Coast Railroad operations north of Scotia consisted of two local jobs, one that worked south from Korblex (including the Samoa branch) and the other working north from Scotia. The two would meet in what's left of the Eureka yards to swap trains, usually in the wee hours of the morning. Former CCT #70 usually powered the "north local", and it usually spent its days parked on the main in the plant.
Sad to hear of this latest development...not too many of the old North Coast Railroad shippers are left in business anymore...
