Thank you Brian for the additional information about the branch. I didn't think about corrosion affecting the track circuits since that was never a problem when I was still living there. Seabright used to feature the "Seabright Sag". It was a soft spot a few hundred feet south of the crossing that caused the cars to do a mighty dip to the side.
I have put a bunch of footage on a DVD and showed it to our local "slide-video night" group a few years ago. They were thrilled to see so many GP9s and SD9s in action. I told them that it was over five years before I saw the Santa Cruz Local with something other than GP9/SD9s. I did film it with rare visitors, such as a GP20E and GP40X. I missed it around 1992 when a Wisconsin Central SD45 made the trip. A buddy of mine at the Safeway Store on Mission phoned me that he saw it go by his store. I didn't catch up with it until they tied up at Watsonville Jct. After my wife and I retired in 1994 and moved to southern Oregon, then I'd read posts about all sorts of stuff showing up.
