Princesses Mary, Marguerite, and Patricia (as well as others) were all part of Canadian Pacific coastal steamer fleet on the West Coast.
Princess Marguerite was acquired by the B.C. Steamship Co. from CP and operated into the early 1980s on the Victoria-Seattle route.
Princess Patricia operated up the Inside Passage into the late 1970s, I believe.
Before the cruise ship trade revved up, CP competed with a CN steamship affiliate and the Alaska Steamship Co. on passenger traffic up the Inside Passage. Of course, Alaska State Ferries has been a player too in the last 40-50 years.
