I am always amazed at the snide diatribes against rebuilding or even maintaining the option of rebuilding the railroad infrastructure to an important port and possibly offer traffic relief and access to the north coast of California-NWP. The destruction and decapitalization of the RR infrastructure is one of the more short sighted and foolish acts of the last 50 years. Now faced with traffic gridlock, a nearly worthless dollar, real increases in fuel prices, dependency upon unstable third world dictatorships for our fuel supply, we have people questioning the opportunity to reopen the NWP. Sounds like some of you are ready to sacrifice a few more trillions of dollars to the oil dictators, or a few thousand more young American lives to keep the oil supplies flowing, but not a penny for rebuilding our infrastructure- under the guise of"No new taxes". Your motto must be: "Billions for tribute, not one red cent for defense?"
