In the news line the DSNG motor car was not in the right even thought the trooper gave the mini-van driver a ticket. Every railroad in the North America requies an operator of on traxck work equipment to stop at every crossing and if need be flag the crossing.

See the UP rule: 42.6: Grade Crossings

Track cars and on-track equipment must approach all grade crossings prepared to stop and must yield the right-of-way to vehicular traffic. If necessary, flag the crossing to protect movement of a track car or on-track equipment.

Lucky no one was killed
