It's their site so I guess they can do what they want. Marty, I appreciate the comments - I'd fooled around with those old transparencies for a couple of hours but there you go. I didn't want to phony them up too much; did clean up the marks in the brown sky on the nose shot - should have done the same for the third one. My comment about them being available for "few days" is that those links will be pulled down after 7 days. I've got a few more photos from that trip - maybe I'll scan them one of these days.
It is interesting that someone apparently wanted the big Pyle Gyralight. Since the fool only knew how to use a torch they couldn't be bothered with a wrench. Wouldn't that whole front-end have looked good in some trackside restaurant? I've heard many of the FM diesels were reused and you can see a tag attached to the side of the Alco engine for "Alabama Railway Supply." I was in college around this time and remember the unmistakable sound of a few FM-powered tow boats on the Mississippi. They were also used as off-shore oil derrick power.
