Remember that there in no perfect radio. Tastes vary. I lean toward the rugged and easy to operate/program units myself. Some manufacturers have lost sight of the fact that a handheld radio does not lead a charmed life. Life on someones hip can be brutal. Shop around,The Yaesu line of HTs are real world designed and ready to live on the hip. KA6MHT
