Really a shame. Mike did a good job running the AERC and it looks as though had he stayed in Oregon, he probably could have successfully bid on running CBRL. Can't say he doesn't have experience - for a while he was running the POTB before they took it over themselves.

I wish that SP would have granted him the Willamina Branch - we'd have Daylight painted locomotives (re: WVRD 201) in freight service with lots of gyralights.
