The people running the mine, essentially the Gilbert family aka Gilbert Development (although they mask themselves in layers of corporate schemes aka CML Metals, Palladon Ventures, Iron Bull etc)are crooks. They are very well know in Southern Utah for their criminal lack of business ethics. It is their common practice to hire a contractor, watch closely how the experts do their work, and then screw them out of a contract and do the work themselves on the cheap. Aside from Utah Southern, they have also broken many contracts over the years with numerous small businesses. December of 2011 was a hostile takeover of the railroad. They illegally locked out switches and started running the operation themselves. The local crooked politicians who the Gilberts have in their pockets did nothing to stop them either. The good news is that karma is a beautiful thing, and the Chinese (who are buying the iron ore) will do these guys dirty as deserved at some point soon.
