I picked up a used Kenwood TK-260 last year for $50 and a new Rayovac 1500mAh NiCd battery for $45. It has a Motorola VHF 7-1/2" long, long range antenna. It has 4 channels, but they have to be programmed by the dealer. It CAN NOT be converted to handle the upcoming widebands.

It works great. I didn't want to spend a lot of $$$ on a radio. I am pleased with it. Whenever I work, everybody wants to "borrow" it.
