Hi everybody-- Here is a little historical trivia for our subject, ""Glen Icanberry, former Mayor of Calwa Yard"" ...
He comes from a family long associated with an interest in **Railroads**, especially in the San Francisco Bay Area.
His oldest Uncle, "Paul Icanberry", was a model railroad pioneer at the old Eastbay Model Engineers Society on Halleck Street in Emeryville, nestled in a corner surrounded by various trains of the Southern Pacific, Santa Fe, Sacramento Northern, Oakland Terminal Railroad, Interurban Electric and Key System... Paul was an innovator for various types of O-scale operations. He was exclusively featured in an entire chapter of my story entitled "Great Days at Eastbay" that was run on T.O. for several days...
Another of Glen's uncles, "Mark Icanberry" (one of Paul's younger brothers), operated an automotive transmission shop for many years on San Pablo Avenue in Oakland, not too many blocks away from the old Eastbay club.
Thanks to all-- just wanted to share this tidbit from the past, involving Glen's family.
Cheers.
