UP Plummer Turn normally runs the branch M-W-F, and STMA's Switcher has traditionally made an effort to run to Plummer those same days in order to make an efficient swap with UP. But things being what they are, the meet doesn't always happen, and just in the last couple of weeks I noticed the UP running the branch on a Tuesday. That may have been to gather some grain build-up at Fairfield, I don't really know. But "12 cars already there" would likely have been loads STMA brought up to Plummer on Wednesday AFTER UP had already been there, hence the 12 sat until Friday, when STMA brought up still more loads. In addition to lumber and plywood off the STMA, UP picks up lumber from the mill in Plummer.
