The Hike In Method

Years ago I pretty much quit chasing trains when railfanning alone. I always just hike into a spot, get the shot I want, and hike out. It ususally takes most of the day, so I just shoot what trains show up where I'm at when they arrive.

Here's a shot from a few years back taken during just such a hike. This is the Carroll Creek trestle on Stevens Pass, and is about a 1/2 day hike, (at least for an old duffer like me), in the snow from road's end down at the Foss River.

And yes, the streak has ended...I snuck this one in somehow.....
