To celebrate the return to service of LATL PCC #3100 after painting and other restoration the OERM Operating Crew plan to run all three Los Angeles PCCs on the loop this Saturday
morning -- one in each major paint scheme -- 3001 in the Shirley Temple scheme, 3100 in Fruit Salad, and 3165 in MTA Green. 3001 was LARY's first PCC (1937, thus pre-war), 3100 was a war baby and has no chrome and certain other metals, and the all-electric 3165 was the last streetcar purchased (1948) for LA (until the Blue Line LRVs).
3100 looks great and ran great on its test run Sunday. 3165 has been buried in Barn 1 and hasn't been out in a while, but also ran well Sunday.
Saturday morning is also the annual swap meet. See second item on: [

As as aside, restoration work has started in earnest on San Diego standard gauge PCC #508. As usual, volunteers are needed.
