SP 8898 West out of Truckee January 1968

January 1968, Lyndon Johnson had not yet decided to not seek another term and the biggest political joke in American history, the revival of Richard Nixon, was about to befall the country. I had just received a pretty blue piece of paper from San Jose State College informing me I had been "acedemically disqualified". In other words, get your ass out of here. I decided I would go to work full time for Curtis Lindsay, Inc. (a job I would hold until October of 2002) but first a few days off. So up to Donner Pass.

One of my first SP snow pictures on that trip would be SP SD45 #8898 charging upgrade out of Truckee trailing two UP SD's and a run thru manifest.
