Well, I tried two more times...

Tried my google account (I assume gmail), nothing... not even a box to enter my gmail name.

Dug out an old wordpress account, this time the "Select Profile" actually popped up a box to enter my wordpress user name. "Pushed" Publish... nothing. The comment box just reset itself.

Again, I hope this helps.
