Not to mention the lead in the existing paint(such as it is) and the mitigation that is necessitated by that. The brakes are probably THE most important thing to be dealt with. The thing that puts this project on the low end of the list is the line car is not exactly passenger friendly. We, as rail historians, see the importance of the restoration. The public that pays to ride "Trolleys" would not see it that way. The fact that this example still exists is due to the foresight and open minded attitude of those present at the end of the PE that saved a very important artifact of early transportation infrastructure.
As MOW equipment , "In real life", they were non- revenue equipment they were not usually NOT the best looking rolling stock on the property. built for utility and not their good looks, their appearance was secondary to their utility. The same holds true for their existence in their preserved state. Paint? Be happy they still exist.
