Chard was a most gracious man who I met after I found out his address from a R R mag.I called him and introduced myself and told him I was a R R telegrapher and towerman also who had worked for the Boston & Maine R R while living in N H in the fifties.
He said if I came out to Cajon training to stop in.

I am 75 now and have been retired since 1987 when we moved to Moab UT.That put us closer to all the great train passes out in the West.

We visited Cajon 3 times and each time we would stop and see Chard.We would take him out to supper and after he would enjoy showing us his slides..
I have a copy of his wife's video about living at " The Summit "..
I am glad I called him a few weeks before he passed,

We will miss him when we go to the Summit to Video trains.
