I talked with two different track crews, Union Pacific and Roaring Camp, working in the Santa Cruz area today and was able to confirm that joint bars secured by two bolts are acceptable for excepted track.

I also stopped by the Santa Cruz wye today and the ROW is looking good. When Union Pacific is done, all the track that Roaring Camp has trackage rights to will be brought up to FRA Class 1. In addition, selection of an operator moves forward and I hear there are four operators that are interested.
