I for one am not a railroader as more like just a simple railfan and yes, $12 billion a month is being spent on the Iraq war not to mention that the Democratic held House just passed a bill for another $150 billion lately. And why would I or any other railfan much less someone in the public spotlight complain about the expeditures on the UP line south out of Oakland down into San Jose because what, there's both a passenger & freight captive market and both seem to making money whereas with the NWP (or whats left of it these days), not a single revenue producing carload has come out of nor into the Redwood Empire. Everybody knows why but yet the monies keep flowing into the region because why ?
Some public entity and/or politician says it should be done ?????
It's high time to put a stop to this insanity and put monies into real productive rail regions.
I don't agree with the war nor do I believe that more money will solve whatever problems can't be solved or haven't solved just as much as the same logic applies here on this forum site with regards to the NWP. Again as I said in my previous rant, show me just who are the online shippers willing to gamble their business prospects on a railroad that has done nothing and most likely will not ever do anything anytime into the future. With such a long time having past by with no real and actual physical written in stone action from those people who make up the NCRA aside from those fantasy press releases, I for one seriously doubt any remaining online shipper/distributor is willing to gamble their business operations on a railroad who for the most part pisses into the wind while burning their bridges at the same time.
Action talks. BS walks !!
