Railpix has a new gimmick where it shows a map of the photo location. Not all that useful, but entertaining. But also creates some problems. Back in 1975 I took this picture of the 4449 on I believe the turntable at Hoyt Street. Or at least that is what my increasingly unreliable memory tells me. I also seem to remember hearing that the roundhouse has since been torn down.

I have two questions. Is this in fact the Hoyt Street roundhouse....just checking my memory. But more importantly, and assuming my memories are correct, where was the roundhouse located in terms of today's Portland. I located Hoyt Street on current maps, but it does not seem to be where I remember the roundhouse. I was thinking the roundhouse was north of Union Station.
