At Lovejoy and Ninth in NW Portland. The Lovejoy viaduct passed overhead just feet from the roundouse. The viaduct was removed as part of Vera Katz's urban ruinal project to make Portland safe for GenX yuppies, and banish family wage blue collar jobs from Portland's central core.
The Lovejoy viaduct is somewhat famous for the drawings of SP&S switchman Tom E. Stefopoulos a Greek immigrant who drew on the mythology of his native country in his drawings. He drew these between switch moves.
A person used to be able to sit outdoors and quaff a few pints of micro brew at Bridgeport Brewing nearby on Fourteenth NW while being serenaded by turbo charger whine from Hoyt St.
