The reason they won't touch foreign aid is simple. It is easy corporate welfare that is easy to justify. Who do you think sells the goods for this aid and who gets the money? It will never happen, even though you are completely right on.
I find it interesting that any aspect of the middle class that has something going for it (ie. railroad retirement) is under attack. The republicans are using each other's jealousy agaist us all. The rich just sit back and laugh at those of you who say all these retirement plans are broke. They love the fact that some middle class people will side with them... That means they are one step closer to a fatter wallet when they don't have any responsibility to fund pensions or pay taxes. The day they have gained complete control, I am sure they will send a big thank you to those of you who echo on this board that retirement plans like RRB should be reigned in. When will middle class America figure this out! It also laughable how many doom and gloomers on this board seem to think since they work until they are 70+, that everybody else should have to do what they are doing. Economics 101 says you are taking away jobs from younger people and making things worse for them to boot by depressing the job market, but better for the top wealth and corporations.
