Not far from where that photo was taken is a GG1 painted in PRR tuscan red colors at the Altoona Railroaders Memorial. I saw it shortly after it was repainted during the early 1980s. It looked beautiful.

Unfortunately, after years of sitting outside unprotected, it is now a sad illustration of the title of a Neil Young album, "Rust Never Sleeps."

The museum is building a roundhouse and when I saw the unit in early April, it was under cover. Hopefully, it will be eventually painted again to be a worth photo companion to the NS unit.

As for an E-unit, Bennet Levin has that covered.
