PBS' real news shows are probably among the better out there. Many of their major ongoing series are well-researched and produced, too. This show, though, sounds like it wasn't news. If it was like most of what shows up on PBS outside the big name series, it was more or less independently produced and sponsored, and should be treated as being no more fact-based than the typical Rushism or Fox. Remember, news people don't have to get the story right, they just have to get (or even make up) the story.
FWIW, I never saw it because it didn't appear in Sacramento at least at a time I could watch - our PBS station is having one of its monthly (3 weeks at a time) pledge drives so the entire schedule is tossed in favor of infomercials, yoga & pseudo-health shows, and specials that we've seen before at least 20 times. And that's despite the 10-15 min/hour of commercials (OK, "enhanced donor identification") they already play. If I want to see something actually from PBS, I usually have to get it from the PBS web site or Hulu, or sometimes see it dubbed in Spanish (some of these can be hilarious) on 6-3.
