Its been a busy week for the Eastern Washington Gateway.
On Saturday, the crew setout the co-load grainer along the line from Reardon to Coulee City. Then the NIWX 375 (Montana Rail Link painted SD45) was sidelined due to a bad wheel which was sent back to Western Rail.
Monday, Western Rail leased the two Utah Southern SD40-2s which were then taken to Davenport with the GP7 leading (on the westend)
Tuesday, The three-unit lite power headed to Almira/Hanson/Hartline to pickup the loaded cars and dropped them at Cement. All five units then gathered the train at Coulee City.
Wednesday, at somepoint on the way east, the Utah Sou 3001 blew a turbo.
As far as the derailment, all five locomotives derailed but stayed upright, several cars derailed some tipping over into the fields.
