Got it at Wikipedia. Yes. Dash 40 2's were on a longer frame, had different trucks for a time, Flexi-coil verse a new design, HTC. Few changes, but unlike an easy conversion from SD-35 to SDP-35 in N-scale, an SD-40 from an SD-40-2 would be alot harder if not impossible for this novice... Cheer's....
