SP never ran anything larger than a 2-8-2 on either the Santa Cruz Branch or SPC portion over to Los Gatos. Light 4-6-2's (3100's) did go to Santa Cruz, but never the 2400's. The bridges are a factor, and probably would need big retrofitting to support a hot 2472 at speed.
