No doubt the audience for Lydon's tours are exactly the people you describe and not loonies. And it would have cost my husband and me $130 to participate, so it ain't cheap either. But no one on this board is solely responsible for this getting cancelled as the trouble started over on another board by someone else a couple of days ago when they poasted a thread entitled Let's Get Paid for Tresspassin"!! It then migrated to this board. Actually, one of the people who read it on the other board is good friend of mine and a retired long time UP exec and his immediate reaction was "the lawyers will NEVER allow this". He didn't notify the lawyers, BTW, but you would be surprised if you knew how many corporate railroad people DO monitor this and other boards, not necessarily to catch stuff like this, but just to "know" what's going on "out there in the railfan world".
I think the initial reasons for posting about it at all were because it was obvious it had been done before and people were puzzled as to how and who gave permission to do so since it is such a far cry from the usual trespassing no-no's of the railroads.
