Re: Hagans Virginia Mainline Switchback

I've been to Hagans twice now and it is a fascinating operation. Especially in the 21st century. The crews are pretty efficent and make short work of the procedure. It seemed like it wouldn't take a whole lot to eliminate the switchback and connect the two lines directly but I guess CSX doesn't feel it's worth it.

Another thing that suprised me is that several fans I talked to within a few hundred miles of Hagans didn't even know it existed.
