At the Mid Plains Community College in North Platte, Nebraska, there's a Center for Railroad Training. Standing outside the building is a locomotive provided by the UPRR for hands-on mechanical instruction. It rests on rails just long enough to accomodate it, and on a recent tour we were told that THAT is the shortest railroad in the country! :-) :-)
