On the days they do not operate (Tues, Thurs) they can almost always know they will have the day off. If an industry has requested to be switched or cars need to be brought up from Davis ASAP the Trainmaster will call the night before and let them know the plan. So, what you saw Matt, was probably just that. Sure do wish that end of the line was bussier, and yes...they decided to cut them down to 3 days a week due to fuel prices and slower traffic since the Corning Job is the longest job mileage wise on the CFNR system. They might go back to 5 days a week again once the Fall season arrives.
