Violet Spur

Continuing my search for old (no longer with us) Switchers and Locals... wondering if folks want to share what they know about the Violet Spur. Cliff Prather gave some great info on it on West Coast Rail Forums, but wondering if there is more.

Also, did the Violet Spur have anything to do with all of the industries that were wonce were the Los Angeles Times building is today? If not, what was that area called?
