Question About Big Trees #2600

Hello. I have a question that I hope someone can answer for me. I have always been a fan of the Santa Cruz Big Trees and Pacific. The crew is always friendly. But, I have noticed that #2641 is usually the unit running down to the Boardwalk. Why is it that #2641 is used more than #2600? Does it run better? Is it the crew's choice?

Just wondering...
