For the past couple of weeks the Empire Builder has often been hopelessly late westbound
into Spokane, frequently terminating in Spokane and bussing passengers west, and starting its eastbound journey from Spokane, and the last couple of days the Portland section has not been running at all with the whole train consist going to Seattle and Portland passengers bussed. Anyone know what the problem is with the train, it used to be that BNSF worked hard to keep the train on time, but this summer the train seems to get lost in Montana or the Dakotas ending up many hours late in both directions. Also, new signs on Spokane depot front doors say "Passengers and Guests only beyond this point." Anyone know
