Not sure how, or if, this'll tie in with the West Oakland Pacific, but apparently there's a new contract starting soon for shipment of ore through the Port of Oakland that'll be transloaded from railcars. Work is currently under way in the old Knight Yard at the old Army base for this. They were dumping rock last week. This would be on west side of the fence that separates UP's Desert Yard from the old Knight Yard at the Army base.
