So are/were the 578 and 0109. The 97ER1 truck didn't go back with the C-1, because it wasn't on loan. The 578, along with the 0130, #1 0109, and crane, went to pot sitting on the downwind side of the through track at Geneva, where the salty sea breezes came whistling through the door directly on them. When the 578 went back to the Muni, some twit in the carpenter shop said that "BAERA had ruined the finish", when in fact BAERA kept it under cover better than the Muni did. BAERA also rewired the car lights, which were connected incorrectly, and fixed the resistor grids, which are GE type PR and had burned out because the WH motors from OET are much larger capacity than what the car had originally (GE 800s or 1000s). I have a pic of the original motor casings sitting in the scrap pile at Eklton c1966, and when Elkton was torn down, the armatures turned up. Oh well.

The Muni essentially put the C-1 back to what it was when purchased. At the time it went to RVJ, the Muni had never repacked any of its bearings the entire time they had it, and ISTR that most if not all the motors are sequentially serial numbered. These two things mean that they had never been removed for repair. The air compressor (National A-4) was completely out of oil when it arrived at the Jct. It also has a G-1D compressor governor and a 272 switch group (although it may have been converted to 480 when the iron monsters were).
